Third Phase of Quad Residences Advances at York University

Phase 1 of the Quad Student Residence began construction at York University in 2015, Phase 2 began in 2020, and if everything is approved for Phase 3, work could begin on it in 2025. Built on former surface parking lots at the south end of York U’s main Keele Campus, Campus Suites and Forum Asset Management have submitted a Site Plan Approval application to the City of Toronto to advance phase three. Designed by ARK for, the residences are a seven-minute walk from York University subway station.

York University’s The Quad Residences stem from a Master Development Agreement with the FCS Development Corporation. This partnership was established to address the growing need for student accommodations as outlined in the York University Housing Strategy, approved in February, 2012. It paved the way for a multi-phased, mixed-use student community. Following an RFP process, the university-initiated development under a two-level agreement that guides the financial and developmental framework of the 15-acre site. This has led to the current Site Plan Approval application for Phase 3.
